I am a SAHM to three amazing children and wife to my soul mate. Photography is my passion and my mission is to capture my children's childhoods as best I can through blogging and photos :)

61.365 {snow play again}

The kids had a day off from school so after we ran our errands/doctor/eye appointments, we played out in the snow for a little bit again. We had a snowball fight, but it was a little unfair. Abby, Mckenzie and a friend of theirs all against me. I think I ended up with snow in every nook and cranny possible :) Cooper was content to find the only patches of mud out there and dig in them.

Ready, Set, Jump (or as Cooper would say reaaaady, reaaaaady, go!)

60.365 {snow play}

We got maybe 6 or 7 inches of snow yesterday and into the evening. It was beautiful to wake up to rooftops covered in pristine, white snow. The kids had a blast playing outside while Scott cleared the driveway. I came out long enough to snap some photos and pick Cooper up a time or two after he fell into the snow. Apparently in all his snow gear he gets as stiff as a board and can’t get up on his own :)

She was so excited that she was finally able to climb on top of the mailbox.

The poor kid’s eyes were always covered by his hat. The silly thing falls down almost as soon as I move it away from his eyes.

59.365 {snow}

Today was one of those days. I was feeling bummed because I felt like I was missing out on being part of a group. Even as adults we want to fit in and be liked and today, I felt like I was the geeky kid looking through the window at all the cool kids hanging out together. Lucky for me though, I realized I had something so much better staring me straight in the face. A chance to hang out with my family and enjoy the beautiful snow that was falling. I asked Abby if she wanted to take some photos in the snow and she said yes! I was so excited! So, we snapped a few photos outside before my fingers nearly froze and headed back inside. It was magical I tell ya. She smiled and moved where I asked and it was fun. I am so thankful I had the opportunity to capture her beauty in a winter wonderland. Well, maybe not a winter wonderland, but there is snow. I wanted to snap some photos in front of this gorgeous barn near our house, but the guy that owns it wasn’t home to ask if it was okay to shoot on his property. Maybe another day… But for today, I was able to capture a real smile from Abby and that can be hard to do :) untitled-6776

58.365 {class photos}

The girls had class photos today. To say it was a crazy morning is putting it mildly. We didn’t have a chance to pick out clothes last night because we were out so late, so this morning was filled with searching for the perfect dress and fixing hair :) I wouldn’t have it any other way though. untitled-6771

57.365 {cooking assistant}

Cooper loves to help me cook. He just can’t get enough of it. He helped me mix up some meatballs and then I had to move them to the other side of the stove to cook them so Cooper would stop helping :) He found a way to entertain himself though, by trying to climb on the countertop!

56.365 {let’s go}

Cooper found my tennis shoes and insisted on putting them on. He tripped a few times, but he didn’t give up. He kept walking around in them and finally he decided it was time to go. He walked to the garage door and kept saying “go”. I love this little boy so much :)

A marker and a piece of cardboard = the beginnings of a masterpiece.

47.365 {fun and games}

It’s all fun and games until someone gets a face full of snow. :( Poor Abby got doused with snow and ended up going inside because she was so cold. The other two kept on playing. Mckenzie asked Scott to bury her in the snow and Cooper kept falling over and needing help to get back up :)

46.365 {pick up games}

This boy just loves to dig through my kitchen drawers and cupboards and he loves to “cook”. Some days my crock pot is filled with goldfish and oven mitts. Other days, its my blender filled with toothpicks :) untitled-6715

Beverly Straws are a big hit at my house. Great Photos! I enjoy your work.

41.365 {be my valentine}

The girls wanted to make their valentine’s cards to hand out at school, so I found a cute Minion card for Abby to make and an owl card for Mckenzie. I have to say it was a lot of prep work on my part, but giving up an entire naptime was so worth it. (and maybe they will want to make the same cards next year and I will just be able to pull up the files instead of creating them from scratch again 😉 )The girls had so much fun assembling their cards and when we finished, their faces were filled with pride.
