Mckenzie felt fine today, but last night she was under the weather so, she got to spend the day hanging out with Cooper and I.

Dakota had a friend over to play today. They were a muddy mess and there was no way I was letting them in the house, but that didn’t stop Dakota from banging on the door :)

Abby made Mckenzie breakfast in bed and then joined her to watch a little netflix on the iPad :) I love moments like this between these girls. The quiet moments of sisterhood. Agreeing without fighting first. These are the moments I hope they look back on with fond memories when they are older.

or at least that is what Dakota thinks of the backyard when we are playing out front. Poor girl looks so pitiful watching the kids play. I’d let her be out front with us, but she has a tendency to roam :0

35.365 {sleeping babe}

I don’t know if it is how peaceful they look or how it gives me a chance to reflect on my role as their mama or reflect on their sweet personalities, but there is just something about watching my children sleep that gets me every time. Cooper looks so little to me here, but as he is running around throughout the day, I am reminded he isn’t so little anymore :(

untitled-6604She loves the Magnatiles she got for Christmas. I have to say I love them too. She spends so much time building with them and she gets to be pretty creative with them. I have found a village of houses surrounding her bed and beds for her babies built from these. This happens to be her tallest tower yet. She was so proud of it I just had to get a photo.

I wasn’t too sure about letting Cooper play with the kinetic sand because I knew it was going to be a huge mess. And I was right. There was sand all over the kitchen by the time he was done, but it was so worth it. He had so much fun building with the sand and destroying what he built.

I didn’t take a photo today so I am using one from yesterday. Mckenzie got to have wacky hair yesterday and we went all out :) She loved it and so did I.

38. Another year older. Strange how I don’t feel old, but my 20 year old self thought 38 was nearly ancient! I’m glad Scott snapped a few photos of me on my birthday. I may not like how I look in photos, but I know when I am old (like honestly old like 50 😉 I will want to remember what I looked like at every age. Ice cream cake and presents with the kids and then Scott took me out for dinner and a movie (American Sniper. A very somber movie to say the least. I have never walked out of a silent theater before, but talking just seemed inappropriate.)
